The Labyrinth and Lemon Squeeze

If you want one unforgettable adventure, the Labyrinth and Lemon Squeeze at Mohonk is it. This is a true rock scramble, not a normal hike, threading through narrow crevices, over boulders, and up ladders bolted into the rock, ending with a squeeze through a tight cliff passage and a climb to the Sky Top Tower with panoramic views over the lake and ridge.

It is a genuine bucket-list experience and a favorite for adventurous guests, though it takes some agility and is not for anyone uneasy in tight spaces or with heights. The payoff at the top is one of the best views in the whole region.

A few details worth knowing before you go: this trail is on Mohonk Mountain House property, which is separate from Mohonk Preserve and requires a hiking day pass from the resort, so check current pricing and reserve ahead, since passes are limited and sell out. Suggested for ages 8 and up. Hikers must arrive by 3pm. It closes in wet or icy conditions. Wear sturdy shoes and leave big packs behind, you will need your hands free.
