About the property
This modern art studio was designed from ground up and skillfully crafted by local artists for you to enjoy quiet getaway from the hectic city life. It is a piece of art by itself, and it is fully stocked with all the necessities you need in a house. Enjoy unique hand made stone carved fireplace, handmade dining table, original wall art, leather sofa and chair, oversized window that is facing forest
You will have full access to the house, parking for two cars right in front of the porch.
The studio is situated on top of the Shawangunk Ridge, (The Gunks) surrounded by pine forest, the granite rocks and breathtaking views.
It is only 1 mile away from the spectacular Stony Kill Falls. Within short 4 miles there is an entrance to the Minnewaska state park, with its well-maintained biking trails, crystal clear swimmable lakes, hiking trails, rock climbing and breathtaking views of the Hudson valley from over 2,000 feet high. In the short vicinity there are also 4 wineries, plenty of restaurants including famous Brauhaus.
There are plenty of art galleries, organic farms, ski, skydiving, paragliding and many many more.
The friendly hosts are local enthusiasts and are happy to share their knowledge of the best spots and variety of the local activities with the guests of the house. You will have the house for yourself, but we will be around the area and available to text or email or emergency calls. Cell coverage is spotty in our area, but we have a wi-fi network with a good connection.
No public transit, the car is the best way to get here, however taxi cab or Uber from New Paltz can take you there to spend a relaxing day or two.
Fireplace:
It is operational only during cold seasons. Our heating season starts 1st of October and ends 15th of May. The pilot light will be shot off and the fireplace will not be operational any other times.
Outside activities include biking, hiking, swimming, rock-climbing, skydiving, paragliding, wine tasting, restaurants, art centers, organic farms, harvest (apples, blueberries, peach, raspberry etc.) picking, caving, stargazing and many more
Wild life:
Our house in situated on top of beautiful Shawangunk Ridge. It is in the nature and wildlife is living nearby. There are also insects. Insects will surely get inside ones in a while regardless our honest attempts to limit their presence around the house.
Carpet:
Its a natural wool carpet and might shedd. Be aware if you dont like shedding or allergic
